Project Coordinator, UM Analytics

Summary

The Project Coordinator, UM Analytics plays a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making and process optimization within MedPOINT’s Utilization Management (UM) department. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, UM, this role focuses on analyzing UM performance metrics, developing actionable insights, and driving strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and report on high-impact projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze UM data trends and develop insights to enhance utilization management strategies.
  • Oversee and track project plans, timelines, and documentation, ensuring alignment with MedPOINT’s UM objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to support performance improvement efforts using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Develop data visualizations and dashboards to present findings in a clear format for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Utilize SQL or other database tools to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into strategic decision-making.
  • Support strategic projects through research, data collection, and root cause analysis to drive process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and workflows based on data-backed recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by incorporating analytical insights into operational processes.
  • Provide frequent, detailed communication to business owners on project development, analytics findings, and status updates.
  • Facilitate meetings and project-related discussions, ensuring effective collaboration and follow-ups.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree (MPH, MHA, or related) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics, healthcare operations, or project-based work preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, SQL, Tableau) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and ability to derive actionable insights.
  • Experience in supporting data-driven decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with healthcare utilization management, regulatory requirements, and process optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop reports, interpret data, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting formal documents and policies

Salary Range:

  • $70,000 – $85,000 annually
